RSPL raises ₹25Cr seed round to scale indigenous Czochralski crystal manufacturing
Raana Semiconductors Private Limited (RSPL) has successfully closed a ₹25 crore (approximately $3M USD) seed funding round to scale its indigenous Czochralski crystal manufacturing operations.
About the Round
The round was led by deep-tech focused investors with participation from strategic backers in the defence and semiconductor sectors. Capital will be deployed towards:
- Expanding the Czochralski crystal growth facility
- Purchasing additional furnace capacity for Silicon and Germanium
- Hiring materials scientists and process engineers
- Accelerating technology development under existing government programmes (iDEX, BARC)
Founder Statement
"This funding marks our transition from a research-oriented lab to a commercially-ready crystal manufacturing company. We are building India's crystal backbone - the foundational layer that every semiconductor, defence system, and photonics product depends on."
Market Context
India currently imports nearly 100% of its semiconductor-grade Silicon and Germanium substrates. RSPL's mission is to establish domestic supply chains for these strategic materials, reducing import dependency and supporting the India Semiconductor Mission.
